End the Politicisation of the National Trust
The National Trust has been aggressively promoting a “progressive” ideology which seeks to erase the role of religion in public life and wishes to compel others to support an ideology which they oppose.
Earlier this year the National Trust have
• removed the word “Easter” from “Easter Egg Hunt” so now they simply have a chocolate “Egg Hunt”.
• attempted to force its volunteers to where LGBT Pride badges in support of LGBT causes.
• introduced intrusive and unnecessary question probing into the sexual lives of their volunteers. In an online survey, the charity is asking its volunteers to reveal their 'gender identity', giving them the choice of 'male, female, trans, non-binary or intersex'.
Each of these moves is entirely unneccessary and each shows how the National Trust is slowly implementing a "progressive" ideology which seeks to erase religion and force othes into a particular way of thinking about issues associated with sex and marriage.
The politicisation of the NT is clear for all to see and the outgoing head , Dame Helen Ghosh, has admitted “We have alienated traditional members”.
The NT exists to preserve out nations heritage, property and land, for everyone to enjoy. This is not an ideological project and should not become so.
