Thank Governor Bevin for condemning sexual harassment!

God designed sex for marriage to be a beautiful physical representation of the spiritual and covenantal union of the couple. Sex is the physical manifestation of the two becoming one flesh. In its designed context, it is beautiful and it is sacred.

However, sex in post-sexual-revolution America today has become anything but sacred. Our culture screams free love for all without consequences. But we know there is no such thing as sex, outside God’s design, without very serious consequences. In just the last month, sexual abuse scandals have plastered the front page of nearly every major news outlet.

Recently, in Kentucky, it has come to light that several high-ranking Republican state lawmakers attempted to cover up sexual harassment charges. Fortunately, instead of trying to protect politicians in his own party, Governor Bevin has come forward strongly condemning all sexual harassment and calling on others to do the same.

Please thank Governor Bevin for standing up for what is right by condemning sexual harassment!

Representative Jim DeCasare, Representative Michael Meredith and Speaker of the House Jeff Hoover were all involved in settling a sexual harassment case. This kind of behavior is far too common among powerful men. Fortunately, the Governor called out this abuse and stood up for what is right.

Here’s what the Governor said during a speech at the statehouse.

These allegations are serious. These allegations are specific. These allegations are reprehensible. These allegations have not been denied by anyone.

Any elected official or state employee who has settled a sexual harassment claim should resign immediately. The people of Kentucky deserve better. We appropriately demand a high level of integrity from our leaders and will tolerate nothing less in our state . . . They should not be in government employ. They should not be representing the people of Kentucky.”

Please thank the Governor for condemning sexual harassment! Let’s work together to change the cultural mindset by affirming his stance!
