Protect the safety and privacy of all Texans!
A bill in the Texas Senate would require individuals to use the bathroom that corresponds with their biological sex in government buildings and schools. This is common sense legislation that shouldn’t be uncontroversial.
Senate Bill 6 has just passed out of committee and will now be considered by the full Senate. This important legislation has momentum; now is the time to keep the pressure on! LGBT activists have loudly protested this common sense bill, so it’s important that our voice is heard with even more vigor!
Please sign this petition and send a strong message to the Senate in support of this simple and straightforward legislation. Men should use the men’s restroom. Women and girls shouldn’t have to worry about men in their bathrooms and locker rooms.
Senate Bill 6 has strong support in the legislature and across the state. Even some legislators who often oppose Republican measures are in support of Senate Bill 6. Senator Eddie Lucio Jr., who is the first Democrat to publicly support Senate Bill 6, stated that:
“The issue becomes more crucial when discussing how these issues affect our children, especially when they are at the age when they are trying to understand things about themselves and the world around them. They lack the maturity to fully comprehend circumstances and need to be guided by their parents and teachers. This is why I am voting for Senate Bill 6.”
Shiloh, a fourth grader says that allowing boys into her bathroom makes, “me feel very, very uncomfortable.” Forcing little girls to share intimate spaces such as locker rooms and bathrooms with boys is simply deplorable. We must stand up for the safety and the comfort of our daughters, sisters, and friends! No woman should have to worry that there might be a biological male in her locker room or restroom.
We hear from the left and LGBT activists all the time that transgender people might feel uncomfortable in their biologically assigned restroom. But we rarely hear the other side: many more women and girls would feel uncomfortable—and could actually be unsafe—in a locker room shared with biological males. And this isn’t even to mention how sexual abuse survivors have testified to feeling being near strangers’ male anatomy.
Biological men are men; biological women are women; and we shouldn’t have to make the obvious point that they are entitled to privacy in their own sex’s bathroom. Please join me in supporting this important, common sense bill.
The Senate bill will protect and restore privacy in Texas. The national conversation over issues of gender has turned reality on its head. Help us restore sanity to the conversation. Please sign this petition now to voice your strong support for Senate Bill 6.
