King County wants to discredit pro-life pregnancy centers!
Pro-abortion advocates claim that Planned Parenthood “health clinics” offer women the full range of reproductive health care options. However, as a series of recent investigations have demonstrated, Planned Parenthood only offers “care” to women who want to prevent pregnancy or terminate their already existing pregnancies.
These “services” hardly constitute the full range of “care.” However, whenever defunding Planned Parenthood is discussed, advocates on the left scream about denying women healthcare. (As we have reported before, if Planned Parenthood were to be defunded those funds would be redirected to community health centers that provide excellent comprehensive community health care.)
But apparently, although Planned Parenthood abortion centers are “health clinics” and are critical to “women’s health care,” a King County Health Board says that pro-life pregnancy centers are not health clinics. This unelected board is trying to discredit crisis pregnancy centers by requiring them to state in writing that they are not “healthcare facilities.”
This is insane and an obvious double standard. Please sign this petition to the King County Board of Health demanding that they stop discriminating against pro-life pregnancy centers and lift this oppressive regulation.
As of July 27, Care Net and other pro-life crisis pregnancy centers in King County will be required to post signs in their waiting rooms, on their websites, and in their promotional materials stating: “this facility is not a health care facility.”
But wait a second. According to King County, Planned Parenthood clinics aren’t required to state, “this facility is not a health care facility,” even though abortion clinics primarily provide contraception and abortions and nothing else!
Consider this: Care Net in King County has been in operation since 1985, has served over a quarter million patients, has board certified doctors and nurses on staff and offers free ultrasounds and STD testing. But… they aren’t a health care facility and Planned Parenthood (which does not provide ultrasounds or any prenatal care) is?
Kim Triller, Care Net’s executive director said, “What it gets down to is, ‘Well, you’re no longer considered a health care facility unless you provide or refer for abortion, provide or refer for birth control.”
King County obviously wants to promote abortion and discredit pro-life centers. Let’s fight back against this culture of death and abortion and demand that the King County Board of Health rescind this biased and ideologically charged regulation.
