Tell the OAS to respect life, family, and parental rights
Let’s tell our representatives at the Organization of American States (OAS) to respect life, the natural family, and parental rights!
On April 8-10, heads of state and representatives from 34 nations across the Americas will meet in Panama City, Panama for the Summit of the Americas to discuss "Prosperity with Equity."
For many years, pro-life and pro-family activists have lacked the necessary vigilance with regard to the OAS. The opposition, the powerful abortion industry and radical LGBT-activists, have not been so complacent.
The results of this lack of vigilance on our part have been disastrous; in effect the OAS has become a nest of vipers that is breeding the culture of death and spreading it in the Americas.
We need to ensure that three things happen in Panama City:
- Life is protected. The American Convention on Human Rights, Article 4, Section 1, affirms that "Every person has the right to have his life respected. This right shall be protected by law and, in general, from the moment of conception." At the Summit of the Americas, the right to life of every human person, from conception, must be protected! No promotion of abortion is acceptable.
- Family is promoted. The natural family, based on the union of one man and one woman in marriage, is the fundamental building block of society. It is recognized as such by the American Convention on Human Rights, Article 17, Section 1, which says that "The family is the natural and fundamental group unit of society and is entitled to protection by society and the state." In order to find prosperity and equity, the natural family ought to be strengthened and promoted.
- Sexuality education is parent-driven. Unfortunately, some radical organizations are lobbying the OAS to promote a sexuality and gender ideology that promotes promiscuity, homosexuality, and abortion. And some governments, such as the Obama administration, are all too ready to oblige. The American Convention on Human Rights, Article 12, Section 4, says: "Parents or guardians, as the case may be, have the right to provide for the religious and moral education of their children or wards that is in accord with their own convictions." The Summit of the Americas should reaffirm this parental right and oppose calls for mandatory so-called "comprehensive sexuality education."
CitizenGO will be present at the Summit of the Americas to ensure that YOUR voice is heard! Please sign the petition and we will deliver it in person to decision-makers in Panama City.
Don't forget to share the petition on social media and via email, so that we can collect as much support as possible before the conclusion of the Summit!
