Same-Sex "Marriage" Imposed on the USA
Over the last 12 months, no fewer than 18 US states have had same-sex marriage policies forced on them by lower federal courts.
This situation – where activist judges impose their will on the people of the states, who have used proper democratic means to define marriage, in law, as between one man and one woman – makes a mockery of democracy. And, it makes a farce of the "tolerance” which the gay lobby, and their fellow-travelers in the main-stream media, constantly use as their mantra.
Therefore, when the Supreme Court of the United States hands down a landmark ruling on the right of the states to define marriage as the union between one man and one woman, the Court will not only have a chance to set the record straight on the states' right to regulate marriage, but the Court will also have a chance to rein-in the lower federal courts on this matter of great importance for the common good.
Make no mistake, this is a seminal moment for the United States. And, because of its enormous influence on world politics, this is also a seminal moment for the entire world.
The overarching, substantive question before the court is not whether a male-female marriage policy is the best policy, but only whether it is permitted by the Constitution.
The answer to this question is an obvious YES.
Now, we need to continue to let the Supreme Court know that unelected judges – from the lower courts on up to the Supreme Court itself! - shouldn't insert their own policy preferences about marriage and then say the Constitution requires them everywhere.
There is simply nothing in the United States Constitution that requires all 50 states to redefine marriage.
And, We The People have the constitutional authority to make marriage policy in accordance with right reason and the common good. We cannot let unelected judges usurp that authority from the people. We must affirm the truth about marriage, and affirm the right of citizens to recognize the true definition of marriage.
Please sign this urgent petition, asking the Supreme Court NOT to take unconstitutional action to impose same-sex marriage across the board in the United States! Even at this late hour, it's possible for the Justices to go back on a good decision. So, please urge the Court to allow the states to decide their own laws on marriage.
In doing so, a strong message, underscoring the importance of the principle of subsidiarity in American law, will be sent to the international community, too.
