Norway, return Tyler to Amy

On July 23rd of 2013 the Norwegian Child Protection Service called "Barnevernet" took the 19 months old Boy Tyler into care. His mother Amy (an American citizen) was accused of still nursing her son. She was told that Tyler should have weight 10 kg instead of 9,6 kg, even though according to weight charts 9,6 kg ist still normal for a boy at this age. Amy was deprived of all parental and visitation rights and the name Tyler was changed into a Norwegian name so that she would not be able to locate him.

Also changing the name deprives Tyler from his American heritage. Ever since Tyler was taken he is kept at a secret address. Everything that has happened in this case are gross violations of human rights. With this petition we want to help getting the boy back to where he belongs - into the arms of his loving mother.

Petition to: Prime Minister Erna Solberg, Minister of Children and Equality Solveig Horne, US Ambassador Samuel D. Heins

For the Kind Attention of:

- Prime Minister Erna Solberg
- Solveig Horne, Minister of Children and Equality
- Samuel D. Heins, US Ambassador

The 19 months old American citizen Tyler was forcefully removed from his American Mother Amy Jakobsen on July 23rd of 2013 by the Norwegian CPS Barnevernet. This happened without a judicial warrant and without any hearing. The given reason was that Amy Jakobsen was still nursing Tyler at the age of 19 months (which is nothing unusual). Also she was told that the boy should have weight 10 kg instead of 9,6 kg, even though 9,6 kg are normal for a child of that age. According to the case documents Amy Jakobsen was deprived of all parental and visitation rights, and the boy is being kept at a secret address ever since. Also the authorities changed the name Tyler into an unknown Norwegian name, so that Amy Jakobsen won't be able to locate her son. Also changing the name of the boy deprives him from all American heritage.

It is very obvious that a number of international norms on the treatment of children and families have been violated in this case, including:

1. UN Convention on the Rights of the Child
2. International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights
3. European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms

Therefore I'm asking to reunite Amy Jakobsen and her son Tyler immediately. Thank you for your serious and urgent consideration.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]
