Save Pastor Saeed Abedini! #SaveSaeed

Three years ago, a Christian pastor named Pastor Saeed Abedini, who is also an American citizen, traveled to Iran to help build an orphanage. Soon thereafter, he was arrested and imprisoned in Iran, where he has been held since.

Pastor Saeed's crime? Being a Christian.

Pastor Saeed converted to Christianity from Islam, and the Iranian government is now claiming that Pastor Saeed is a national security risk, that he previously started home churches in Iran, and that he worked with Iranian teens to convert them to Christianity.

Pastor Saeed has now been imprisoned and separated from his family for over 1,000 days. Yet this unconscionable infringement on Pastor Saeed's rights has been utterly ignored by President Obama and other world leaders in their nuclear talks with Iran!

In 2013, Pastor Saeed was moved to Iran’s toughest prison, Rajai Shahr. Experts say that the prison is overcrowded, inhumane, and potentially deadly. If Pastor Saeed is not promptly released, he may not live until his sentence is up.

The United States government admits that Pastor Saeed did not commit a crime, but they have nonetheless sidelined attempts at his release. The White House and other world leaders have not found time in their agendas to discuss the major human rights violations Iran commits every day, such as imprisoning Christians for openly expressing their faith.

On Tuesday, July 14th, President Obama announced that a nuclear deal was reached with Iran, but the prompt release of Pastor Saeed was left out of this deal.

The global community is now evaluating this deal. World leaders must take into account Iran's human rights violations when they consider this deal!

Sanctions on Iran should not be relieved while they continue to wrongly imprison Christian pastors for their faith

Iran ranks in the top percentage of human rights violators among all nations in the world. They have countless religious prisoners whose only crime committed is being a Christian.

Pastor Saeed is ill, abused, and is not receiving the proper medications to survive.

This is a clear violation of human rights and we call on you to fight for this man’s life.

Iran must be held accountable for this man’s life and the lives of countless other Christians given similar sentences on false accusations.

Demand the release of Pastor Saeed Abedini

Dear World Leaders,

Iran ranks in the top percentage of human rights violators among all nations in the world. They have countless religious prisoners whose only crime committed is being a Christian.

Saeed Abedini, an American, Christian Pastor, husband, and father, has been imprisoned for over 1000 days in Iran on false charges. The Iranian Government refers to him as being a “national security risk” based on allegations that were presented without proof that Pastor Saeed contributed to the start of hundreds of home churches and helped young Muslims convert to Christianity.

Pastor Saeed is a husband and father of two children. He is reported to be held in deadly conditions in Iran’s toughest prison, Rajai Shahr.

This is a clear violation of human rights and we call on you to fight for this man’s life. Iran must be held accountable for this man’s life and the lives of countless other Christians given similar death sentences on false accusations.

Because of the recent detente between the West and Iran, it would be easy to forget that prisoners of conscience, like Pastor Saeed Abedini, are still languishing in Iranian prisons, just because of their faith. Now that the Iranians are making grand overtures on the world stage, the global community has the opportunity - rather, the duty - to hold Iran accountable for its past humanitarian abuses. One way to do so is to demand the immediate release of Pastor Saeed, and others like him.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]
