Raleigh zoning board prohibits pro-life center from opening near abortion clinic!
Pro-abortion advocates try to claim that they are “pro-choice.” However, abortion advocates often tell women there is only one appropriate choice—terminating their pregnancy.
And it would seem that some in Raleigh, North Carolina are afraid of women in crisis pregnancies even knowing there are alternatives to abortion. Raleigh’s Board of Adjustment, the local zoning board, has refused to allow “A Hand of Hope” pro-life pregnancy center to operate in a building near an abortion clinic. This is a blatant violation of the legal rights of pregnant women and this pro-life organization.
Please sign this petition now to the City of Raleigh demanding they reverse this discriminatory decision. It is obvious that this restriction was fueled by a desire to silence and intimidate pro-lifers.
Abortion advocates want to make pro-lifers feel that we are entirely alone. Sometimes, through the way the media represents the abortion debate, it can seem that pro-life advocates are in the minority. However, in reality, there is consensus among Americans that abortion must be limited. Eight in ten Americans agree that abortion should have real legal limits. Only about one in ten Americans support unrestricted abortion.
It’s clear that pro-life Americans are in the majority. Let’s fight back against the perception that we are in the minority by vocally proclaiming our position and standing up for clinics like Hand of Hope.
The abortion clinic near the facility said they were relieved that Hand of Hope was prohibited from operating because they feared the competing clinic would create “an unsafe environment due to protests.” This is utterly ridiculous. Hand of Hope moving nearby would upset the abortion clinic for one real reason: it would offer women an actual alternative to abortion! That alternative: life. What place does our City have in actively discouraging women from choosing life?! Rather than standing up for choice, the zoning board has chosen the option they most prefer—killing unborn babies in the womb.
The fact that minority and poor women residents of Raleigh make up a disproportionate number of abortions only goes to show that our City does not care for and protect ALL of our citizens, as they should. Real protection would provide these women with the option to choose life, for themselves and their unborn babies.
Women deserve real choices when facing unplanned pregnancies. Please stand with us in demanding that Hand of Hope be treated fairly and allowed to operate near this abortion center.
