Thank the Arizona legislature for defunding Planned Parenthood!
Abortion is a grave evil in our society. It’s critical that we fight on all fronts to empower women and protect vulnerable, unborn babies. There are many means by which we can accomplish this goal, but it’s no secret that ending state funding to Planned Parenthood would be a huge step towards protecting life in Arizona!
Good news! The Arizona legislature just approved a budget that defunds Planned Parenthood! This is a huge victory for life in Arizona! Please thank the Arizona legislature for standing up for life by defunding Planned Parenthood in Arizona!
Through this cut, Planned Parenthood in Arizona will lose $2 million dollars –which is 15 percent of their annual revenue. The Arizona legislature has redirected that funding to 183 health care clinics across the state that provide comprehensive care to low-income Arizonans, but not abortions. This is great news for mothers and babies in Arizona!
In an attempt to keep their unparalleled public funding, Planned Parenthood claims that they do far more than just abortion—they are supposedly committed to providing women the full range of reproductive health services, including prenatal care.
As a series of recent investigative videos produced by Live Action have demonstrated, however, Planned Parenthood clinics offer women only one option—abortion.
Planned Parenthood clinics (1) do not offer prenatal care, (2) won’t allow use of ultrasounds for anything other than abortion, and, in fact, (3) are required to meet certain quotas of abortions each month. One of these facts being true is a travesty; all three make the mission of Planned Parenthood clear—perform as many abortions as possible!
A former employee of Planned Parenthood recently revealed that she was trained “to really encourage women to get an abortion and to [get] it at Planned Parenthood, because that would help us meet our goal [quota]. We would try to have the appointment for the abortion scheduled before they left the clinic.
“We would say things like, ‘your visit today costs X number of dollars, how much of that are you going to be able to pay today?’ If they said, ‘I’m not able to pay today,’ we’d say, ‘If you can’t pay ten dollars today, how are you going to take care of a baby? … There is nowhere you can go to get help, don’t you think your smartest choice is termination.’”
It’s obvious, Planned Parenthood isn’t a women’s health clinic primarily – it’s an abortion business.
Thankfully, Planned Parenthood will no longer be funded in our state! Let’s stand up and thank the legislature for defunding this abortion business and redirecting funds to clinics that actually serve women and babies.
