BERLIN: We mourn and grieve with you!
On the evening of December 19, 2016, a truck raced into a busy Christmas market in Berlin, located at the Breitscheidplatz. According to reports given by the police, at least 12 people were killed and no fewer than 48 were injured.
After the attack ceased and German police succeeded in securing the scene, the General Prosecutor's office took over the investigation.
According to police, the driver of the truck, a man who fled, was arrested 2km away from the scene of devastation. And, a passenger, a man who was found dead in the truck, has been identified as a Polish citizen. This man was most likely the original driver of the truck, who had, perhaps, been abducted by the suspect now in police custody.
To all those who wish to do so, we hereby offer the opportunity to express your condolences and sympathy to the relatives of the deceased victims and to those of the injured, and, of course, to the injured victims, themselves. We wish them all a speedy recovery.
The petition will be run as a "Book of Condolences", and the list of signatures will be made available to the addressees in an appropriate manner.
We have allowed the system to accept comments from signers, so that you can add your personal wishes and messages.
Thank you for signing!
