Eternal Rest to the Victims of the Black Sea Russian Plane Crash

25 December was marred by a terrible air disaster in Russia. A Russian Tu-154 crashed only 1.5km from Sochi, Russia, falling into the Black Sea. Though a massive recovery operation is now underway, no survivors are expected.

This plane was carrying some very notable people, including 9 journalists and Dr. Elizaveta Glinka (also known as Dr. Lisa), a well-respected philanthropist, who ran clinics for cancer patients, the homeless and the terminally ill, in war zones.

This plane was also carrying 64 members of the Alexandrov Ensemble - the Russian Army's choir - who were en route to perform for Russian soldiers in Syria.

In the aftermath of this tragic accident, 26 December (today) was announced as a National Day of Mourning across Russia. We, therefore, join Russia in mourning her dead, and, with this "Book of Condolences", send our thoughts and prayers to the relatives and friends of the victims of this disaster.

These days, we have mainly been thinking about the holidays, and so, an accident like this produces, or should produce, great sympathy precisely because of the great shock the victims' families and friends are now facing. It is simply impossible to imagine how these loved ones must be grieving...

Therefore, our thoughts and our prayers are with all those who lost their lives, with their family and friends, and with all those who were dear to them.

We sincerely hope that the families and relatives of the victims will not be left without support in this difficult time for them.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you...

When an airplane crash occurs, any of us who have flown before can imagine being in that terrifying, helpless situation. In some ways, situations like these can help us sympathise with the friends and relations of the victims, as we can imagine ourselves to be in their shoes.

So, even though the Black Sea is many hundreds, or even thousands, of kilometres away, our hearts go out to the victims' loved ones, as they endure this sudden shock and sorrow.

Our thoughts and our prayers are with all those who lost their lives, with their family and friends, and with all those who were dear to them.

We sincerely hope that the families and relatives of the victims will not be left without support at this difficult time.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]
