Stop Ontario's crackdown on pro-life speech!
The Ontario Attorney General has introduced legislation to censor pro-life speech and protest outside of abortion clinics.
This is just one more example of Ontario's Liberal government trying to shut down expression that it disagrees with, along with other minority viewpoints.
Imposing criminal penalties on pro-life speakers who express their freedom of peaceful assembly—which is guaranteed in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms—is an unacceptable governmental overreach.
Moreover, pro-life speakers and activists do not threaten or harrass women. Instead, they offer them help at a particularly vulnerable time. The government should not take sides by punishing anti-abortion speakers!
The proposed legislation is called the Safe Access to Abortion Services Act (2017). Of course, there's no such thing as safe access to abortion—since every abortion leaves a child dead and a mother wounded.
We cannot tolerate this censorship of a religious and political viewpoint simply because it is an unpopular view in the eyes of Ontario's current government.
Take a moment to sign the petition—which sends an email to the office of the Ontario Attorney General—letting Mr. Yasir Naqvi know that you oppose the proposed legislation.
Don't censor pro-life speech!
