Help End Drag Queen Story Times in Canadian Cities
Canada has seen a massive increase in publically funded drag queen story times. They are happening in community centers, libraries, and schools across the country. And if you dare to say anything against it, the mass media, the local and provincial government employees and even the federal government spokespeople will call you a bigot, homophobe, racist, the list goes on. The rhetoric goes that drag queen story times are all about "inclusivity, safety, tolerance" and the importance of teaching the next generation these high ideals, all while practicing the opposite.
Public protests are starting to pop up wherever these events are being planned; peaceful protests, but that has only angered those pushing this narrative more. Now we see folks getting arrested for simply trying to share the truth: that these events, sponsored and paid for with our tax money, are anything but safe, tolerant and inclusive. Take for example the most recent arrest of Pastor Derek Reimer. On March 2nd, he was arrested for protesting outside a public library in Calgary. Reimer told LifeSiteNews that his mission is to speak the truth as handed down by Jesus in the Gospels, and that is why he and others were protesting.
He was arrested again, after Mayor Jyoti Gondek and city council members amended their Public behaviour bylaw to include the word "intimidation" and then went on to create a new bylaw, "Safe and Inclusive Access" which prohibits protests within 100 meters of a public recreational facility or library. Gondek promised to use the city’s street harassment bylaw to go after protesters after some drag queen story time events were postponed due to protests. She said protesters could face fine of $500 in order to combat “hate and fear mongering.” Some councilors reportedly raised concerns about the speed with which the new bylaw was passed.
This tactic is becoming all too common here in Canada and we need to stop it now. We need to tell Mayor Gondek that trying to silence Canadian citizens, who have the right to peacefully protest and pray for this country, that we won't be bullied into submission.
The story goes that these events have nothing to do with grooming the next generation and all about helping build inclusivity, yet, for most of these events, they are geared specifically to children 10 and under.
THIS NEEDS TO STOP! Stop Indoctrination! Stop Grooming! Stop Intimidation tactics!
While some protests have been successful in having these events cancelled or postponed (hopefully indefinitely) we must press forward. Please join us in any protests happening in cities near you, please contact your local councils and mayors, Premiers and MP's and let them know that tax dollars should not be used to push this agenda. Please consider writing to Mayor Gondek or signing our petition letting her know that these scare tactics will not work, our children are too important to us.
