Tell Congress, Act on President Trump’s Challenge: Ban Late-Term Abortions Now!
At this year’s State of the Union, President Trump urged Congress to ban late-term abortions. Let’s join with him and petition Congress to act to save lives!
Two life-affirming bills sit idle in the United States Senate: the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (S. 3275) and the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (S. 311).
Sign our petition to the Senate to ask they support the ban of late-term abortions!
Abortion is the intentional killing of an innocent human being—and thus should not be permitted. The most potent way to communicate this to someone is to show them the little baby—the human being, boy or girl—that is killed by abortion.
That is why ultrasounds are so powerful. It is much harder to kill an innocent baby after seeing him or her face to face.
At the State of the Union, President Trump showed Congress, and the nation, why abortion is evil. He invited and drew attention to a guest—a two-year-old girl who was born at almost 22 weeks’ gestation; that is just over half the length of a normal pregnancy and well before the third trimester. Despite being born so early, she survived thanks to modern medicine and sat in the congressional chamber with her mother.
Yet under existing abortion laws, in many states she could have been killed…so long as she was still in her mother’s womb. To protect her once she was born is joyous, but to condemn to death other little girls and boys that are the exact same gestation age just because they haven’t been born yet is heinous and cruel.
Looking into that little girls’ eyes, you have to be utterly callous to say that any late-term abortion should ever be permitted.
So, in addition to calling for more funding of neonatal research—a worthy cause—President Trump also called on Congress to “finally ban the late-term abortion of babies.”
At the March for Life a month earlier, President Trump expressed his support for a bill that would ban abortion after 20 weeks—called the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. Failing to support such a bill means supporting the abortion of babies older than the little girl who attended the State of the Union was when she was born, and it means supported the killing of unborn babies even when they can feel pain. That is grotesque.
Many democratic Senators and Presidential candidates often argue that barely any late-term abortions take place, but studies show over 9,000 per year take place in the third-trimester—and untold more take place after 20 weeks.
Please sign this petition to call on the Senate to pass the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (S. 3275) and the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (S. 311).
We must protect children—and the value of life—in this country. We cannot grow weary in this fight. Countless lives depend on it.
