The Trudeau government plans to introduce a digital border app by 2026 to collect photos, declarations, and biometric data from Canadians crossing the U.S.-Canada border.
While they claim this app will simplify travel, the truth is clear:
It’s a dangerous step toward total control, not convenience.
Digital IDs are about restricting your freedom, not improving it.
Government data-collection systems consistently lead to tighter restrictions on movement.
ArriveCAN proved this when glitches forced travelers into unnecessary quarantines and caused chaos at borders. Now, they want to impose a more invasive and dangerous system under the guise of efficiency.
These plans are being implemented without parliamentary oversight by unelected bureaucrats who operate behind closed doors, completely bypassing democratic accountability. This is unacceptable.
Even worse, the federal government’s abysmal cybersecurity track record leaves no room for trust. They’ve already lost 24 years of federal employee data, and hackers breached Global Affairs Canada, exposing sensitive emails and contacts.
Relying entirely on digital systems for border management is reckless.
Last summer, we saw a global cyber outage tied to CrowdStrike, software used to manage airline tickets at all major airports worldwide. A bug in the software brought airports worldwide to a standstill, stranding passengers for days.
If Canadian borders depend entirely on such systems, one outage or cyberattack could halt international travel altogether.
Canadian travelers—families, workers, and vacationers—would be trapped with no recourse.
Can we really trust the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) with more of our private personal data, especially when their own Chief Information Officer somehow conveniently “lost” 1,700 emails related to the ArriveCAN fiasco?
If the CSBA can “lose” emails related to a large public scandal, what’s stopping them from losing your travel documents or exposing your private data?
Digital IDs are not about making life easier—they are about tracking, monitoring, and controlling your movements.
This is an unacceptable assault on YOUR Freedom of Movement.
We must act now to stop this overreach.
Sign our petition today and demand an end to Digital IDs.
This is not about convenience—it’s about defending your privacy, your freedom, and your rights.

Say “NO!” to Digital IDs: Protect Canadian Privacy Now
Dear Privacy Commissioner Philippe Dufresne, Minister of Public Safety Dominic LeBlanc, Parliamentary Secretary Jennifer O’Connell, Minister of Public Services Jean-Yves Duclos, President of Shared Services Canada Scott Jones, and All Members of Parliament,
I demand the immediate halt of all federal plans to implement a digital identification system.
Digital IDs threaten Canadians’ privacy, freedoms, and the fundamental right to Freedom of Movement.
Despite claims of convenience, these systems risk unprecedented government overreach. Canadians have been clear:
We do not want digital IDs.
The Bank of Canada found that 80% of respondents opposed a digital currency, citing privacy and security concerns.
Unelected civil servants continue to advance this agenda, bypassing Parliament and ignoring public opinion. This is undemocratic and unacceptable.
The government’s poor record on data security underscores the danger:
Relying on digital IDs for border crossings or essential services increases risks.
A global cyber outage in 2024 disrupted air travel worldwide, stranding passengers for days.
Imagine such a failure originating from our border services paralyzing our borders, leaving our fellow Canadians trapped and cut off from being able to return home, grow Canadian businesses overseas, or even visit faraway loved ones.
Digital IDs are not about convenience; they are about control.
We deserve the right to privacy, the right to hold our government civil service accountable, and the freedom to travel around the world.
I demand you immediately abandon these plans, respect our rights, and uphold the democratic transparency all Canadians expect.
I will not accept the imposition of Digital IDs and the increase of government surveillance upon my private life.
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
