UPDATE: Terry Rekar, A4C Chapter Leader, submitted a request to be a delegate at the February 24, 2025 meeting but was denied the opportunity to present her concerns. Refer to the letter to the Board (below) to better understand the egregious violations the Board is committing by not allowing Mrs. Rekar to speak. Also, read the news article by Clayton DeMaine.

We need to let Monique Forster, Chairperson of the Board, Gerard Winn, Director of Education, and the trustees know that the public vehemently opposes their conduct in censoring Terry Rekar and to request they give her the opportunity to speak at a future meeting. Many members of the community feel strongly about this issue and in a free democracy, every voice should be heard.

Subject: Urgent Request to Reconsider Denial of Delegate Speaking Opportunity

Dear Monique Forster, Chairperson of the Board, Gerard Winn, Director of Education, and the trustees,

I am writing to strongly object to the recent decision to deny Terry Rekar the opportunity to speak at the February 24, 2025, Durham Catholic District School Board meeting. Mrs. Rekar intended to address the significant issue of the pride flag, which affects many members of the community.

The Board is in violation of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Section 2(a) and 2(b), as well as the Canadian Human Rights Act (protecting speech and religion). As citizens we have a right and responsibility to participate in civic matters. By denying Mrs. Rekar the chance to speak, the Board is undermining our democracy and disregarding the Constitution. Free speech is essential for preserving a healthy democracy.

The pride flag is a political symbol that does not equally represent all students or staff. When you give preferential treatment to one group you are in further violation of Section 15 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, as well as a Supreme Court ruling that clearly states that when the Board “adheres to a belief that is not shared equally it creates a hierarchy of beliefs and casts doubt on the value of those it does not share”.

The Board’s actions are eroding public trust and perpetuating systemic inequality. Therefore, I urge the DCDSB to reconsider its decision and to provide Terry Rekar, and others who wish to speak on this matter, the opportunity to do so at a future meeting.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and to the board’s renewed commitment to uphold and honour the values of democracy and free speech.

Sincerely,[Your Name]

The LGBTQ sex activist's reign of terror is coming to an end as a result of the the tsunami of opposition to their radical, unscientific ideologies that are destroying the lives of children and their families. Parents and citizens are fed up with the Marxist agenda that is sexualizing children and poisoning their minds. It is time to turn back the clock and focus on education that teaches reading, writing and arithmetic, and strong morals and ethics.

We recently achieved an incredible win in the Dufferin-Peel Catholic School District (DPCDSB). Thanks to several organizations working together over the past year, and an outstanding performance by Paula Giovannozzi, DPCDSB Trustee and former Action4Canada Chapter Leader. Paula was successful in submitting a flag policy amendment that led to the Pride flag being completely removed from all schools in the district, including during the month of June! Read more about it HERE.

The next battle is taking place in the Durham Catholic School District and we need your help.

Remove Pride From Schools

Dear Members of the Durham Catholic School Board (DCDSB),

We, the undersigned, respectfully request that the DCDSB cease flying the Pride flag, and prohibit LGBTQ displays and pride symbols, including on posters, lanyards and clothing, on school premises. These represent anti-Christian ideologies that are in violation of the Board's obligation to uphold the Catholic faith and the Christian Biblical principles that guide Catholic education and the mission of the Church, and are in direct opposition to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church and the Archdiocese of Toronto.

The Bible teaches that pride, one of the seven deadly sins, is opposed by God. Rather than leading children in the way of purity and Christian virtue, the DCDSB is allowing a symbol associated with a specific political ideology to overshadow core Catholic teachings on marriage and sexuality; thereby, sowing confusion and deviating from Biblical morality.

While we affirm the dignity of all individuals, Catholic schools must remain focused on nurturing an environment that reflects traditional Christian values. The Pride flag, a political symbol created by Gilbert Baker, to promote LGBTQ+ rights, does not foster unity within the Christian community but instead causes division among families, students, and staff.

The amendment to the human rights code to include gender expression and gender identity, which are not immutable characteristics, created duelling rights that conflict with the Constitution which, according to Section 52:1, states, "if any law is inconsistent with the Constitution...it is of no force or effect". This ideological battle should not be waged in the school. Therefore, the board has a duty, first and foremost, to uphold the Constitution and to secure a parents' right to choose their children's education based on their Christian religious beliefs.

As such, we respectfully request that the DCDSB:

  • Discontinue the practice of flying the Pride flag on DCDSB property,

  • Remove all pride symbols, posters, and LGBTQ displays, and

  • Ensure that Catholic values and teachings remain central to the students' education.

We appreciate your attention to this important matter and trust that you will make decisions that adhere to enduring Biblical principles.

Sincerely,
