Demand Irish referendum on ECB's "digital euro," potential power grab
Demand Irish referendum on ECB's "digital euro," potential power grab
We are at a crucial moment.
The European Central Bank (ECB) is preparing a "digital euro" CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency) to partially or completely replace the current Euro.
This could have huge consequences for all of us.
Please SIGN and SHARE our petition now to call on the Irish Government to introduce a motion for a referendum in Dáil Éireann if the ECB approves plans to introduce a digital euro, so that citizens can express their opinion on the introduction of a European digital currency in Ireland.
This is not just a technical change. The digital euro would be under the direct control of the European Central Bank.
This means that all transactions could be monitored, and transactions that are not approved by the Government, (or, perhaps, the ECB, or the European Commission) could potentially be blocked.
Of course, that would open the door to all kinds of abuses, such as the EU deciding that you can only spend a limited budget on meat or fuel each month, for example, in order to promote the climate agenda.
Or - in the worst case - the Government might be equipped to freeze your account with the push of a button if you are declared "suspicious" or "unsocial" for one reason or another.
Thanks to artificial intelligence, this might even happen fully automatically, based on one or more "suspicious" or "unsocial" transactions.
It could also mean that your money is given an expiration date, meaning you might have to spend it to stimulate the economy, or else it would become worthless. Putting the money aside for later would, thus, be made impossible.
It is abundantly clear: we cannot just let this happen to us!
Please SIGN our petition now to call on the Government to introduce a motion in the Dáil for a referendum if the ECB approve plans to introduce a digital euro.
There is no need to assume that all of the above abuses are currently explicitly intended as part of some kind of malicious "master plan".
The problem is that it will all be made possible if we continue down this path.
And that means that the EU can implement such measures in the future whenever it wants to. Which doesn't necessarily seem unlikely, given the track record of EU bureaucrats.
Indeed, it seems that they never pass up opportunities to have a far-reaching impact on the lives of EU citizens.
We only have to look at how the EU now intends to tax greenhouse gas emissions, to see how they want to promote the climate agenda by all means, for example.
And the ECB has already stated that it sees the climate as one of its tasks.
We should not give these people more resources than they already have.
So, please SIGN the petition now to ask the Government to introduce a motion in the Dáil so that we can vote on the introduction of the "digital euro" CBDC.
Many problems could arise from the introduction of a digital euro CBDC, while the benefits for the average citizen are not clear to say the least.
That is why we must demand a referendum, so that every citizen can have a say in something that affects him or her so deeply.
Will Ireland soon have to use the ECB's "digital euro" CBDC, yes or no?
Introducing a referendum would initiate public discussion, so that everyone can be well informed about the disadvantages of a CBDC.
This choice is just as fundamental as the one for or against the European Constitution, which was the subject of referendums in 2008 and 2009, under the name of the Lisbon Treaty.
According to the ECB's website, the investigation phase will end in October and a decision must be made.
We must therefore put as much pressure as possible on our Government before then.
It would be absolutely untenable (and, unjust) for the people of Ireland to just be thrown into this.
We must not let that happen.
So, please, SIGN up quickly and ask the Government to introduce a referendum on the matter in the case that the ECB decide to go forward with the "digital euro" CBDC!
