Stop the Boston Public Library from abusing kids' innocence
As a parent, I can't believe how insulting and disgusting this is... To celebrate "Pride Month," the Boston Public Library hosted a "drag queen story time" in the Children's Library.
The library invited the so-called "Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence," men who dress in flamboyant women's clothing and imitate Catholic nuns, to read stories to children. Stories like A Boy Named Queen about "gender non-conforming kids," and Stella Brings the Family about two homosexual "dads."
Instead of reporting the drag queens to Child Protective Services, the library permitted them to play with the children, and even they even took a picture with a young child who also appeared to be dressed in drag.
This tax-sponsored programming is utterly vile. It's impossible to believe that the library would have dared to insult other faiths in the way they just insulted Catholics. There's no chance the library would've invited drag queens to mock Islamic holy figures while wearing hijabs, for example.
But more importantly, this event destroys the innocence of children to serve an ideolological agenda of sexual liberation. Can't we just let children be children without exposing them to this perversity?
Can you imagine being an unsuspecting parent taking your children to the library and being confronted with this offensive scene? These events are disgusting and should be canceled. The Library says that it "reviews all feedback and comments we receive on our programming, which helps to inform future program selection for our patrons."
Let's let them know what we think! Sign the petition to send an email to the Boston Public Library and its Board of Trustees, telling them to never again host a "drag queen story time" event.
