In the proposed Strategic Plan for 2018-2022, the US Department of Health and Human Services defines life as 'from conception to natural death.’ Words have tremendous power! Defining life accurately in this way is critical for shaping the way the Department thinks about unborn and elderly people which in turn will influence policy measures.

Please support this language in the Department of Health and Human Services Strategic Plan and say yes to life from conception!

Under the proposed Strategic Plan’s third goal, to Strengthen the Economic and Social Well-Being of Americans across the Lifespan, the document states:

“A core component of the HHS mission is our dedication to serve all Americans from conception to natural death, but especially those individuals and populations facing or at high risk for economic and social well-being challenges, through effective human services.”

Defining life from conception is a huge linguistic win for science and for pro-life and human dignity advocates.

Pro-life advocates have long argued that language matters. That’s why it is important for us to call unborn babies what they are – people made in the image of God with inherent dignity and worth. It’s important to verbally say that we are the “pro-life generation” and call abortion advocates what they are: pro-abortion, not pro-choice.

(As we have reported before, most abortion advocates are not “pro-choice” because the only choice they will accept is unfettered access to “terminate pregnancies.”)

Our words have power. The state must recognize the personhood and dignity of all people, born and unborn. All unborn babies have human DNA distinct from their mother, and are scientifically separate, living organisms. What else is a living member of the human species than a human person?! To deny this obvious truth is the most anti-science position widely accepted in our nation.

Your words have power, as well. Please help protect the dignity of all people by supporting the proposed plan by the Department of Health and Human Services to define life as from conception to natural death!

Life from conception to natural death!

Department of Health and Human Services,

I am writing to give my support for your proposed Strategic Plan for 2018-2022, in which you define life as 'from conception to natural death.’

I strongly support this language in the Strategic Plan. Defining life as from conception is the most accurate and scientific definition of human life.
