As people of faith, we are clearly commanded not to hide our faith but to boldly proclaim it. We have the words of eternal life, why would we ever want to hide that? However, in the current culture today, it can feel very scary to be called out as a Christian –particularly as a Bible-believing Christian.

It seems like everyone in Hollywood and New York City is opposed to the God of the Bible. These days standing up for your Christian conviction can mean you lose your business. But one Hollywood movie star isn’t giving Christian millennials a pass on speaking up about their faith.

Denzel Washington is challenging young people to be unashamed of their faith in the social media age. Join with Denzel Washington and help him share his message of bold proclamation. We must not hide our convictions under a bushel. There are many people of faith in America and if we all stand up together we will be a force that cannot be intimidated.

In an interview with Christian Post about his new movie, Roman J. Israel, Esq, Washington discussed the challenges that Millennials face in the social media age. Today, many people get their information off of Facebook and Twitter. As a result, individual people have great power to influence the narrative in their social media feeds, which can reach thousands.

Washington discussed a friend he respects who sends out a scripture every day to all of his friends. He charged millennials do to the same, and send out scriptures every day –even when people don’t like it.

“I'm all about the message, to the degree that I know it, and I'm unashamed and unafraid to share it!” said Washington. “So you have to be unafraid and unashamed to share it in the way your millennial generation know's how.” –Through social media.

That’s a charge that’s uncommon among Hollywood actors, but a charge that should be noted and implemented. Because of social media, we live in an age in which we do have tremendous power and we ought to make the best of that opportunity by living out Washington’s charge –to get out the message.

So be unashamed. Get out the message. Stand on a hilltop and proclaim your faith. Let your social accounts serve as a podium to proclaim the glory of God to a culture gone mad. If we all stand up and start shouting our faith together, the sound will be too great for the secular culture to ignore.
