Tell lawmakers to say no to abortions on California college campuses!
During the last year, there has been a lot of talk on college campuses about creating “safe spaces.” The people behind these “safe spaces” are generally just trying to silence any viewpoint that isn’t radically liberal. But the concept is a good one. College campuses should be “safe spaces.” They should be places without bullying, violence or hatred.
However, some lawmakers in California want to make an extreme form of violence commonplace on college campuses: abortion.
SB 320, sponsored by State Senator Connie Leyva (D-Chino), is aimed at making California colleges abortion providers. This radical legislation shouldn’t even be considered –but unfortunately it is. Tell the Senate Health Committee to reject this extreme legislation. College campuses should be safe spaces for everyone –including the unborn.
If enacted, SB 320 would establish a Medication Abortion Implementation Advisory Council. This council, which would be appointed by the State Treasurer, would allocate money to universities seeking to make abortion available on campus through abortion drugs. This means that students could simply walk into their university health center and receive abortion inducing drugs.
This is wrong on a number of levels. First and foremost, every human life is precious in the sight of God and has inherent dignity and worth. We all begin in the same vulnerable way. It is remarkable that in our society we don’t recognize how incredibly ghastly and wrong abortion is. We are literally allowing thousands upon thousands of babies to be killed each year.
Those who refuse to recognize the undeniable scientific fact of the humanity of the unborn should not have the power to allocate tax dollars to public and private universities to supply abortions.
Please take action now. Tell the Senate Health Committee to reject this radical extreme piece of legislation. College campuses should be safe spaces. And we will work to make them safe for everyone –no matter how small or easy to marginalize those people might be. Stand with us in protecting the unborn.
