Oppose the bill in Massachusetts that would eliminate conscience protections for Christian business owners
Many on the left have turned sex and sexual identity into a kind of god. According to this dogmatic religion of self-expression—there must be complete acceptance and conformity. Never mind First Amendment protections –everyone must be required not only to tolerate all forms of sexuality but to celebrate them.
In Massachusetts, Representative Michael Day has just introduced H.767 which would bar businesses from declining to participate in same-sex wedding ceremonies on religious grounds. Representative Day wants force all Christian business owners in Massachusetts to celebrate gay marriage or close their doors.
This bill has been referred to the committee on the Judiciary. Please sign this petition to the Judiciary Committee asking them to kill this discriminatory bill in committee.
In the face of this sort of coercion, it is imperative that Christians stand as a unified voice against what’s wrong in our culture and work to protect one another against this aggressive worldview!
Speaking to the Associated Press, Catholic Action League of Massachusetts Executive Director C.J. Doyle stated that the purpose of this bill has to do with “coercing the consciences of Christians and enforcing homosexual ideology on the rest of society.”
“The same people who pleaded for tolerance and an end to discrimination when gay rights laws were being considered, now demand that Christians be punished, and if necessary, driven out of business if they refuse to service same-sex ‘marriage’ ceremonies.
“If this legal thuggery succeeds, conscientious religious believers will be effectively excluded — which is to say, discriminated against, in entire professions — such as those of printers, photographers, bakers, florists, wedding planners, along with jobs and businesses in the hospitality industry.”
We must not allow this thuggery to succeed! We must stand up and say enough is enough.
It’s time that world started paying attention to what we think. The LGBT lobby is incredible effective at bullying and making a huge splash. We need to make a similarly big noise about the curtailing of Christians from the public sphere if we wish to be heard.
Through our digital advocacy we can be a united voice that can defend our individual rights through our collective action. Please sign this petition now to help fight to defend our basic right to work as Christians in society.
Tell the Judiciary Committee to kill H.767 before it ever reaches the State House floor.
