Support life-saving abortion regulations in Indiana!
Abortion is a grave evil in our society. It’s critical that we fight on all fronts to empower women and protect vulnerable, unborn babies. There are many means by which we can accomplish this goal, and we should applaud every legal limitation to abortion as it represents lives saved.
Recently, the Indiana House passed Senate Bill 404, which would require parents to be notified if their child is seeking an abortion. Although we must always work towards completely outlawing any abortions in our country, any restriction is a step in the right direction to save lives!
Please sign this petition asking Governor Eric Holcomb to sign this legislation into law.
Obviously, we don’t think any teenagers or any adults should have abortions. However, this hurdle will slow down the abortion machine and give young women valuable time to consider (with their families) whether or not they should kill their unborn babies!
Under Senate Bill 404, a teenage girl’s parents would be notified of her desire to have an abortion before the abortion takes place. The bill also establishes criminal and civil liabilities for individuals who help a child get an abortion in violation of the parental notification requirements.
Tragically, the abortion industry targets teenage girls. Earlier this year, Teen Vogue, a fashion magazine aimed at 15 to 18-year-old girls published an article titled, “What to Get a Friend Post-Abortion.” In the article the author normalizes abortion and says it’s the right choice for many teenagers and doesn’t need to be a big deal.
But we know the truth. Abortion is always a big deal. It’s a big deal because every abortion results in the death of a child and the damaging of the mother. In this case, a very young mother who will be affected for the rest of her life. That’s why parental notification laws are important. Besides ending the life of an unborn child, abortion is a major procedure. Minors need parental consent for other major medical procedures. What possible justification could be given for making an exception for this even more major and more risky procedure?! Wouldn’t it seem logical that the parents of a teenager should know if their grandchild is going to be aborted, via a procedure that can have serious negative consequences for their daughter?
But again, this is merely a limitation on abortion, which we are thankful and support because of the lives that will be saved. However, we must never stop fighting for the unborn until abortion in completely outlawed in our country.
