Tell the Seattle Storm WNBA team – abortion hurts women!
Abortion is a grave evil in our society. It’s critical that we fight on all fronts to empower women and protect vulnerable, unborn babies. There are many means by which we can accomplish this goal, but it’s no secret eliminating support for Planned Parenthood would be a huge step towards protecting life.
However, some feminists try to claim that Planned Parenthood provides “critical health services” for women even though undercover investigative reporting has demonstrated that Planned Parenthood offers essentially no services or support for pregnant women who don’t want to abort their babies. And community women’s health centers offer more and better care for non-pregnant women—and they outnumber Planned Parenthood offices 20 to 1!
Despite this fact, the Seattle Storm WNBA team has just announced that they will be working to raise money for Planned Parenthood! Obviously, this basketball team thinks that their fans will support this move. Please sign this petition to voice your opposition to supporting Planned Parenthood and ask the Storm to support a health organization that provides services for all women.
As Live Action news reported, the Storm will be holding a fundraiser for Planned Parenthood titled a “celebration of support” on July 18th.
Dawn Trudeau, one of the co-owners of the Storm, stated, “Access to affordable, quality health care, including a full range of reproductive care, is a critical precondition for anyone – especially girls and women, to pursue their dreams and grow into their best selves.”
Trudeau must be misinformed about what services Planned Parenthood provides because they certainly do not provide quality healthcare for all women.
As a series of recent investigative videos produced by Live Action have demonstrated, Planned Parenthood clinics offer pregnant women only one option—abortion.
Planned Parenthood clinics (1) do not offer prenatal care, (2) won’t allow use of ultrasounds for anything other than abortion, and, in fact, (3) are required to meet certain quotas of abortions each month. One of these facts being true is a travesty; all three make the mission of Planned Parenthood toward pregnant women clear—perform as many abortions as possible!
A former employee of Planned Parenthood recently revealed that she was trained “to really encourage women to get an abortion and to [get] it at Planned Parenthood, because that would help us meet our goal [quota]. We would try to have the appointment for the abortion scheduled before they left the clinic.
“We would say things like, ‘your visit today costs X number of dollars, how much of that are you going to be able to pay today?’ If they said, ‘I’m not able to pay today,’ we’d say, ‘If you can’t pay ten dollars today, how are you going to take care of a baby? … There is nowhere you can go to get help, don’t you think your smartest choice is termination.’”
It’s obvious, Planned Parenthood isn’t a women’s health clinic primarily – it’s an abortion business.
Please encourage the Storm to support an organization that is actually attempting to serve all women – like the hundreds of community health centers in the Seattle area that serve all members of the community regardless of income level or insurance and provide women real options and support.
