NO! to the return of Planned Parenthood abortions in Waco

Residents of Waco and dozens of nearby counties reject the return of the shedding of innocent blood in their midst. The resumption of abortion in Waco would bring death to preborn babies, immense harm to mothers, and continuing decline in community respect for Planned Parenthood.
Planned Parenthood began committing abortions in Waco in 1994. After over 19,000 abortion deaths, this regional abortion center closed in 2013. Sadly, Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas has a new Texas abortion license allowing PPGT to reopen its abortion business in Waco in 2017. Pro-Life Waco is fighting against this dreadful outcome in every way possible. This petition drive is one strong arrow in our quiver.
The significance of a resumption of abortion in Waco.
1. Waco would become the abortion magnet for a large area in the middle of Texas. The demand for abortions in Waco/McLennan County would fall far short of what would be needed for a profitable abortion facility. Abortions of McLennan County residents are approximately 300 per year. The largest number of abortions in Waco during the 1994-2013 holocaust was 1,246 in 2007. To reach 1,200 to 1,500 yearly, the vast majority of the abortions would have to be from the dozens of counties surrounding Waco.
2. A Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Waco would be the first step for the abortion industry to reestablish its position in Texas midsize cities. With the enactment of Texas HB2 legislation, abortion facilities in Lubbock, Midland, San Angelo, Killeen, Waco, College Station, Beaumont, Corpus Christi, and Harlingen were all shuttered. The Supreme Court reversals of HB2 in 2016 opened the path for Planned Parenthood to reenter Texas mid-size cities. Waco would be the first deadly step in this ominous direction.
Initiatives in the NEVER Again in Waco! Campaign
In addition to this petition drive, the NEVER Again in Waco! campaign includes over 300 yard signs, nine billboards, a NEVER Again! message on the Pro-Life Waco billboard truck, a full-page ad in the Waco Tribune-Herald signed by 83 pastors, protests with press coverage at Planned Parenthood sites in Waco, Fort Worth and Austin, and numerous letters to the editor and paid advertisements in the Waco Tribune-Herald. Along with strong action, we fervently pray that Waco will not again become an abortion holocaust city.
