We the undersigned – comprising Catholic and non-Catholic individuals – address this statement to the Catholic bishops of Massachusetts, most especially to Cardinal Sean O’Malley, Archbishop of Boston and Metropolitan of the Ecclesiastical Province of Boston.

We recently reported that Senator Bernie Sanders believes Christians are unfit to hold public office because they believe in salvation through Christ alone. He attacked a nominee for the White House Office of Management and Budget for believing that Muslim theology does not lead to salvation—or in other words, being a traditional orthodox Christian.

Abortion is a grave evil in our society. It’s critical that we fight on all fronts to empower women and protect vulnerable, unborn babies. There are many means by which we can accomplish this goal, but it’s no secret that ending state funding to Planned Parenthood would be a huge step towards protecting life in South Carolina!

There is immense pressure on Christians to conform to the liberal sexual ethic of our society and celebrate gay marriage. During the summer, gay pride parades and celebrations shut down traffic in nearly all major cities and LGBTQ rhetoric and imagery dominated the advertising campaigns of major corporations. With so much pressure, it can begin to feel extremely oppressive. How is a Christian supposed to remain faithful to God’s word under so much pressure? 

Recently, Vanco Payment Solutions—an online donation site by which many different organizations accept donations—cut off services from a Louisiana-based Christian group called the Ruth Institute. It did so because the Ruth Institute was supposedly “flagged” for “being affiliated with a product/service that promotes hate, violence, harassment and/or abuse.” The sole evidence for the Ruth Institute’s connection to hate? It appears on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s list of “hate groups.”

Rutgers University, "The State University of New Jersey", has a student center on the New Brunswick campus called the, "Center for Social Justice Education and LGBT Communities", or SJE, for short.

The SJE is part of the Office of Student Affairs, and, as it says on its "About Us" webpage, their mission has a focus on "gender and sexuality".

That is about the understatement of the year...

Recently, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook announced that Apple would donate $1 million to the Southern Poverty Law Center. In the wake of the racism-motivated violence in Charlottesville, Cook stated that he saw this gift as “work[ing] to ensure that everyone is treated equally and with respect.” Indeed, SPLC claims that it is doing just that, especially by publishing a list of “hate groups” that includes some bona fide racist and hateful groups like neo-nazis and the KKK.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is launching the "'Our Wisconsin' All-Student Inclusion Program" this Fall. It is a "diversity" program, which, in their words, is designed to, "improve the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s campus climate, as it is one of our core beliefs that every student at UW-Madison, regardless of their background or how they may identify, should feel safe, valued, supported, and welcomed."

Too often, the only celebrities and public figures who speak out in public life are liberal. They usually speech out in favor of Democratic candidates or “progressive” causes like gay marriage, transgenderism, and abortion. As we’ve recently reported, high profile athletes and other famous people often partner with Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and other pro-abortion groups.

Time and time again, elite liberal news organizations demonstrate clear bias against conservative and Christian causes and stories. One clear annual reminder of this truth is how little coverage the March For Life attracts from news sites despite being the biggest annual public demonstration by any group in America! The cause is pro-life, so the media ignore it.
