One of the most exciting moments for any pregnant couple is finding out the gender of their baby. By the eighteenth week, it is obvious via ultrasound whether the couple is having a little boy or a little girl. The ultrasound technician doesn’t do a brain scan of the baby or ask the baby which gender the baby identifies with – she simply checks to see which reproductive organs the child has!

Sex is determined at the point of conception and it does not change. However, in order to serve the god of sex, our culture has decided to ignore reality. And those on the left want to force Christians to do the same.

The ACLU is suing a Catholic health care system in Washington for not covering an employee’s child’s gender-reassignment surgery.

It would appear that our culture has lost all semblance of sanity. A headline like this is beyond the pail. Please sign this petition to the ACLU asking them to drop this ludicrous lawsuit and focus on defending the rights of people who have actually been wronged.

Here’s what’s going on. As the Associated Press has reported, “the American Civil Liberties Union of Washington filed the discrimination lawsuit against PeaceHealth in federal court on behalf of Cheryl Enstad of Bellingham and her son, Paxton Enstad, 17. She said she and her husband eventually took out a second mortgage and dipped into Paxton’s college fund to pay more than $10,000 for his surgery last fall.”

Has anyone stopped to ask what would be best for the child, Paxton? It would appear that Paxton’s parents and the ACLU are so consumed with the new sexual liberal orthodoxy that they may have neglected to consider what is best for child struggling with gender confusion.

Through celebrating the transgender ideology, we are seriously hurting our children! Some are even advocating that children as young as 12 begin chemical transitions if they are confused about their gender! Children, young people, and adults are mutilating their bodies and our culture is telling them that it is healthy and good. This is tolerance for the sake of cowardice in the face of the new sexual orthodoxy.

These harms of transgenderism led the American College of Pediatricians to issue a statement that transgender ideology harms children.

“Gender dysphoria (GD), formerly listed as Gender Identity Disorder (GID), is a recognized mental disorder in the most recent edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association (DSM-V).”

Additionally, “[r]ates of suicide are nearly twenty times greater among adults who use cross-sex hormones and undergo sex reassignment surgery, even in Sweden which is among the most LGBTQ – affirming countries. What compassionate and reasonable person would condemn young children to this fate knowing that after puberty as many as 88% of girls and 98% of boys will eventually accept reality and achieve a state of mental and physical health?” (emphasis added).

Many on the left have turned sex and sexual expression into a kind of god. According to this dogmatic religion of self-expression, there must be complete conformity. In the face of this sort of coercion, it is imperative that Christians stand as a unified voice against the culture and work to protect one another against this aggressive and harmful worldview!
