For Christian parents, one of the greatest responsibilities given to us by God is determining how to best educate our children. Unfortunately, because of the extreme sexual agenda of the Left, many public schools are becoming hostile places for children. Kindergartener teachers are hosting gender transition ceremonies and many schools are allowing Planned Parenthood to run sex education courses on campus.

As a result, many Christian parents feel they have no choice but to pull their children out of public schools and place them in Christian schools or homeschool them. But what happens when city governments start putting regulatory barriers in the way of Christian schools expanding?

Such is the case in Upper Arlington, Ohio. Six years ago, Tree Life of Christian School purchased a building in order to expand their offerings. However, the city has put up huge zoning and regulatory barriers making it impossible for them to open classes in the building that they purchased. Please sign this petition to the city of Arlington asking them to allow Tree of Life to move into their building in order to serve more local families.

Here’s what’s going on. Tree of Life Christian School purchased a building and applied for a zoning permit. The city of Upper Arlington allows similar businesses, such as daycares to operate in that area. However, because Tree of Life Christian School is a religious organization, they were turned down. Recently a court ruled that the city could treat religious organizations on unequal terms with other organizations.

Clearly, this is a faulty ruling. Since when did Christians and Christian schools become second-class citizens? Since when was it okay to deny basic rights to Christians because they were Christians? Obviously, this is never okay.

Furthermore, why in the world would the city want to stop a Christian school from expanding? Tree of Life Christian School is committed to providing children an excellent education –wouldn’t be in the city’s interests to encourage them to expand?

Unfortunately, the culture is becoming more and more hostile to Christians and Christian values. As time progresses it will become even more important for us to stand firm in the faith and defend our rights to educate our children in line with what the Bible clearly teaches. The early years of life are critical and formative. These are years we cannot relinquish to the culture. Our children should be given every opportunity to learn the truths of the gospel in a safe and loving environment.

That’s why it’s important for us to work together and fight for one another. That’s why your involvement with CitizenGO is so critical. As individuals, we can be weak, but as a body, we are very strong. The church is made up of individuals, but it is a strong unit because we are united. Let’s unite and commit to fighting for our ability to educate our children as we see fit.
