Tell Apple To Stop Funding SPLC—The Leftists Calling Christian Advocacy Groups “Hate Groups”!
Recently, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook announced that Apple would donate $1 million to the Southern Poverty Law Center. In the wake of the racism-motivated violence in Charlottesville, Cook stated that he saw this gift as “work[ing] to ensure that everyone is treated equally and with respect.” Indeed, SPLC claims that it is doing just that, especially by publishing a list of “hate groups” that includes some bona fide racist and hateful groups like neo-nazis and the KKK.
But, and this is a big “but,” the SPLC also claims that many Christian groups are also so-called “hate groups”! Indeed, the SPLC has demonstrated over the course of its existence that it uses its platforms to bash and unfairly malign mainstream Christians and conservatives alongside disreputable extremists. As we recently reported, SPLC included many Christian groups like Alliance Defending Freedom and Family Research Council on their list of “hate groups” for nothing other than their biblical view of marriage.
Is this really the type of close-minded bigotry against Christianity that Apple wants to promote? Sign this petition now to demand Apple stop funding the fraudulent SPLC.
SPLC is the self-styled “premier U.S. non-profit organization monitoring the activities of domestic hate groups and other extremists.” What they fail to mention is that they lump anyone who disagrees with them politically into that list. Even the FBI and the U.S. Army have “deleted the [SPLC] from the[ir] lists of legitimate ‘hate crime’ resources” because it is so politically motivated.
Too often, big corporate America plays into these sort of unthinking attacks on conservatives and Christians. As we recently reported, Google fired an employee for daring to articulate a conservative view of affirmative action, and CNN published SPLC’s libel of Christian groups as fact. We must tell Apple we will no longer stand by and watch corporate America tear down good people of faith. Donating to the SPLC as it publicizes callous and false statements about Christians does just that!
If you look at the chart on SPLC’s main page, it lists are different categories of “hate groups in the United States.” Some are actually hateful categories—like the KKK and neo-Nazis—but another supposedly hateful category is groups with “Christian Identity.” You read that right. According to the SPLC, “Christian Identity” is a category of hate. And Apple is donating to this anti-religious bigotry.
But wait, there’s more! The Free Beacon recently reported that despite the SPLC being an Alabama-based 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization, it recently sent millions of dollars to offshore entities as part of its “business dealings” and pays its top employees six figure salaries! One CEO of a consulting firm put it this way: “I know of no legitimate reason for any US-based non-profit to put money in overseas, unregulated bank accounts.” And yet, the leftist rich get richer.
Tell Apple you are fed up with corporations like it sending money to corrupt groups like SPLC who unfairly attack conservatives and Christians. We will not stand for this sort of mainstream hatred of Christians in America any longer!
We are here. We see the bias. And we will not be silent as long as Christian groups are unfairly maligned on the backs of money from corrupt corporate America.
