Say NO to YALE-NUS Event Titled "LITIGATING FREEDOM...” Using Foreigners To Influence Our Nation’s Court Of Law!

As concerned Singaporeans, we must resist all efforts by LGBTQ activists to indoctrinate our young generation. Our schools and tertiary institutions are for teaching our children the correct moral values, not a battleground for divisive cultures.

Our children MUST be free from such harmful indoctrination!

Say NO to YALE-NUS Event Titled "LITIGATING FREEDOM...” Using Foreigners To Influence Our Nation’s Court Of Law!

YALE-NUS EVENT OF 11TH NOVEMBER TITLED "LITIGATING FREEDOM:  THE BATTLE TO OVERTURN INDIA'S PENAL CODE 377"

Dear honourable Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong,  Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam,  Minister K. Shanmugam

We write in as very concerned citizens of Singapore about an event  organised by Yale-NUS on 11th November, 2019 for a foreign speaker, Menaka Guruswamy to speak on 377.

Is our government aware that the speaker is herself an advocate who lives as an LGBT? That she was the advocate who personally fought for 377 Penal Code to be struck down in India's Supreme Court?  The case she fought and won later was her personal  legitimacy of a behaviour the penal Code 377 criminalise.

We attach below the links on her background .

Yale-NUS invitation for her to speak on the topic of her personal battle in India Supreme Court where she personally struck down 377 while 3 court cases in Singapore on S377A are still pending, is utterly unacceptable and unethical.

It most certainly could prejudice the hearings of the upcoming court cases on S377A.

This speaker is an LGBT advocate addressing our people. She is being used as a voice to embolden a very vocal LGBTQ minority in Singapore. Her international 'acclaim' as the world's top 100 most influential speaker is being used to add credence to repeal S377A, that is now being challenged in Singapore.

This is a subtle move to use foreigners to influence our nation's court of law.

As a judicial person of great 'acclaim', she is fully aware it is a contempt of court to speak on anything or topics when a court case is pending hearing.

Singapore is a nation with international recognition for its high legal standards. To permit an event where the speaker clearly breaks a professional code of conduct, clearly reflects her contempt of our nation's court.

Yale-NUS holding this event so near to the hearing dates is equally culpable of contempt for our court too.

It is very obvious that these foreigners are subtly interfering in Singapore's affairs. Such unacceptable conduct to influence our judiciary and attempt to change our laws have dire consequences for our current and future generations. It clearly goes against the development and progress of Singapore.

The organisers are using the outcome of her personal battle to speak to an audience which are our future generation who would grow up to be future lawyers, judges, parliamentarians, etc.  How can we allow her to influence our young? This is an attempt to indoctrinate them to skew such a sensitive issue in their favour. We cannot afford to have a generation so subtly but surely impacted.

As citizens with stakes in the well being of Singapore, we strongly protest against this event being held in our tertiary institutions.

Would our Ministers allow pro-family people and people of faiths to invite foreign speakers to speak out against LGBT issues and how to counter them in public institutions?

We appeal for an inquiry into an event that doesn't augur well for our country. We plead with our honourable Ministers to have courage to take positive steps against all attempts to influence our nation's court system and lower our judicial standards of excellence.

Aggrieved citizens outraged by an assault on Singapore.
