Petition to: Companies donating to Planned Parenthood
Do your spending dollars support Planned Parenthood's shop of horrors?
Do your spending dollars support Planned Parenthood's shop of horrors?
Over the last 15 days, Planned Parenthood has been caught in a firestorm of well-deserved controversy after four undercover videos, released by the Center for Medical Progress, seem to implicate Planned Parenthood in horrific crimes against the unborn.
The videos apparently show top Planned Parenthood executives and clinicians discussing and displaying the best methods to extract baby body parts intact, and haggling with undercover investigators over the prices of these body parts.
Not only are these actions disgusting and evil, they are also potentially illegal. The sale or purchase of human fetal tissue is a federal felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $500,000 (42 U.S.C. 289g-2).
In the wake of these videos, many pro-lifers are asking what they can do to help stop Planned Parenthood. 2nd Vote, a consumer advocacy organization that connects corporate dollars to issue advocacy, offers one means by which people can make their voices heard: with their pocketbooks and their spending habits. Indeed, corporations sit up and take notice when their marketshare and profits decline!
2nd Vote’s research found 41 companies and organizations that contribute to Planned Parenthood. Many were listed on Planned Parenthood’s website as having matching gift programs for employees. Already, four of these companies – Coca-Cola, Ford, Xerox, and AT&T – have asked Planned Parenthood to remove their names and have stated that their names were erroneously listed.
It is absolutely essential that we, the consumers, tell the remaining 37 companies that we are holding them accountable with our dollars; we want to ensure that our purchases do not support organizations like Planned Parenthood.
By signing this petition, you will be sending a letter to the office of the CEO of the remaining 37 supporters of Planned Parenthood. The full list can be found here. These companies must either explain that they do not support Planned Parenthood or stop supporting them in the future.
Pro-life conservatives must make our voices heard to ensure that these crimes against the unborn do not continue unchecked.
