Demand Nebraska high school allow pro-life club
Please take a meaningful step today in helping pro-life students, who are being unconstitutionally discriminated against by their Nebraska high school, gain their voice.
Gretna High School administrators are denying the right of school students to start a Students for Life charter pro-life club. These students only intend to educate and inform their peers on the tragedy of abortion and to help those facing unplanned, crisis pregnancies.
Gretna High School is saying no and meanwhile said students sponsoring the club feel like “second class citizens.”
In a statement released by Bridget Christensen, a junior at Gretna High School: “school administration has been treating me and my friends who want to the start the Students for Life club like second class citizens by not allowing us to be a school-sponsored club, even though they allow many other clubs that may be considered controversial. This double standard is discrimination and it’s wrong.”
Is it because the issue of life/abortion is controversial? Absolutely not! Gretna High School allows students to have an LGBT club. <-- there is your double standard.
Greta and her classmates were forced to seek legal representation through the Thomas More Society. Through their lawyers the students are demanding the school allow them start their club by October 14th. These pro-life students deserve the equal rights their peers receive.
The hard deadline of October 14th is approaching, so let’s combine our voices to lean on the school to make the right decision. Each time our petition is signed we will send an email to Dr. Riley demanding the school allow these students to start their help club.
