Petition to: Fianna Fail T.D.s who support pro-life
Stop the Fianna Fail Party from supporting repeal or modification of 8th Amendment
Stop the Fianna Fail Party from supporting repeal or modification of 8th Amendment
At present Fianna Fail has a divided policy on abortion and have promised their Oireachtas members a free vote on the issue. Up to 70% of the Party’s T. D.’s have been supportive of pro-life and in the 2016 General Election many candidates received votes on the basis of their opposition to the removal of the 8th Amendment. The Party also has elected members who support abortion liberalisation and has appointed two pro-abortion T.D.'s to the Oireachtas Committee which will consider the 8th Amendment in the light of the highly flawed outcome of the “Citizens Assembly”. Some senior members of the Party voted for abortion in 2013. Our petition, addressed to T.D’s known for their favourable attitude to protection of the unborn, is for the Party to reclaim its pro-life position and to oppose the removal or modification of the 8th Amendment.
