Abortion is a grave evil in our society. It’s critical that we fight on all fronts to empower women and protect vulnerable, unborn babies. There are many means by which we can accomplish this goal, but it’s no secret that abolishing Roe v. Wade would be a huge victory for human dignity.

This is something that we strive for and believe can happen in our lifetime. But it is important to remember that abolishing Roe v. Wade does not end abortion in America, it merely delegates the responsibility to determine the legality of abortion to the states.

Boston Mayor Martin Walsh has made it clear that if Roe v. Wade is overturned he plans to expand access to abortion in Boston and encourage vulnerable mothers from other states to travel to Boston to terminate their babies lives. This is simply unacceptable. Please take a moment to tell Mayor Walsh that you do not support creating an “abortion tourism” industry in Boston.

Walsh has said on public radio that Boston would welcome abortion clinics that close in other states to move to Boston to continue aborting babies.

Walsh said on Wednesday, “I think a lot of the [abortion] clinics would probably look to cities like Boston to come to, safe cities, cities that are open and progressive and understand the importance of having access.”

Walsh has said he is going to focus on making Boston an “open” and “progressive” city that welcomes abortionists and fosters “abortion tourism.”

We must remember that every abortion ends a human life that is made in the image of God. There is sanctity in each and every human life, and we must fight on all fronts to protect unborn children. Mayor Wash has become so callus to the sanctity of each human life that he wants to promote and expand abortion in Boston.

Please tell Mayor Walsh that his comments are unacceptable and that we will not allow Boston to become a center of abortion. We know that every abortion results in a dead baby and a damaged mother. This is something we must stand against. Make your voice heard and ask Mayor Walsh to withdraw his comments.

No abortion tourism

Dear Mayor Walsh,

I believe abortion is a grave evil in our society and that it is critical that we fight on all fronts to empower women and protect vulnerable, unborn babies.

Thus, you can understand why I would be very troubled by your recent comments about expanding abortion tourism in Boston in the event that Roe v. Wade is overturned.

On Wednesday you said, “I think a lot of the [abortion] clinics would probably look to cities like Boston to come to, safe cities, cities that are open and progressive and understand the importance of having access.”

I urge you to reconsider this statement. We must remember that every abortion ends a human life that is made in the image of God. There is sanctity in each and every human life, and that’s worth protecting even at great personal cost.

Thank you for your consideration and your service to the City of Boston.
