Tell Council of Europe: Ireland Does Not Need Your Abortion Agenda
Once again, Ireland has received advice from an international foreign body telling the Irish people how best to run their own country. This time the Council of Europe’s Human Rights Commissioner, Nils Muiznieks, has said that Ireland must make progress towards a legal abortion regime that is “more respectful of the human rights of women”.
As usual, the Commissioner is
• ignoring Irish law and culture which rightly respects both the life of the mother and her son/daughter in her womb
• setting up a false conflict between the pregnant woman and her son/daughter
• utterly failing to respect the human rights of the unborn women, whilst trumpeting the alleged rights of born women
• attempting to set a precedent by assuming that there is such a thing as a human right to abortion, which does not exist in any internationally recognised legal framework.
Furthermore, the Commissioner is also being extremely patronising in his recommendations and ignoring the sovereignty of the Irish nation which continues to have an excellent maternal health record.
Ireland does not need abortion. The damage it causes to women and their son/daughter does not help anyone.
Please sign this petition to Nils Muiznieks, telling him to cease interfering in such a profoundly unhelpful manner.
