Don't make us pay for abortion pills!
Nova Scotia has announced that they plan to force taxpayers to subsidize abortion pills. Let's tell Health Authority that we don't want to pay for abortions!
Earlier this week, the province announced that it will make Mifegymiso (also known as RU-486) available for free to all Nova Scotia women. Mifegymiso is a two-drug combination of mifepristone and misoprostol that kills a baby within the first month-and-a-half of pregnancy.
This new program will cost Nova Scotia taxpayers up to $200,000 per year. Ontario, New Brunswick and Alberta also force taxpayers to pay for RU-486. Saskatchewan forces it taxpayers to pay for it depending on each woman's individual drug coverage and eligibility.
Forcing taxpayers to cover abortion violates the freedom of conscience of Canadians, and forces pro-life citizens to be complicit in acts they believe to be murder. This is unconscionable.
The new policy will not take effect until November. We need to collect as many signatures as possible to tell the Nova Scotia Health Authority that we do not want to pay for RU-486!
Each petition signature sends an email to Health Authority officials telling them about our concerns. Please sign and share this petition with your friends and family for maximum impact!
