On July 2nd, Australians will vote for the next wave of politicians to be the new stewards of the nation. How we use our vote is fundamental in helping to develop the type of nation we want for ourselves and our families, both now and in the future.

It’s true, that there are many different issues that are important to us as citizens. Our priorities may vary, depending on, for example, where we live, our special interests, or what phase of life we are in. Issues such as unemployment and underemployment, affordability of housing, immigration, sale of Australian assets or how we care for our closest neighbours and refugees. Others may feel access to healthcare, or effective transport and communications are more urgent priorities.

What we can all share in common, however, is the need to elect politicians with integrity, politicians who will work hard to defend human dignity.

It is important to ensure that the core values we hold to be important are at the heart of all policies and legislation introduced in the new government. These values include recognising:

1. Human dignity and right to life from conception to natural death;

2. Support for the family and marriage founded on the legal union between a man and a woman;

3. Respect for freedom of religion, freedom of thought and conscience, especially in medical field;

4. Freedom of education and promoting parents' rights. Including the national withdrawal of the "Safe Schools Coalition" program.

How we use our vote makes a difference. On July 2nd, make your vote count by electing candidates who reflect the type of core values you want for the nation.

CitizenGO encourages all Australian citizens who share these values (life, family, and freedom) to sign this petition: the signatures will be delivered to the political party leaders in a week’s time, prior to the election. We want to remind all our politicians what type of nation that we seek for Australia.

To Prime Minister Hon Malcolm Turnbull, Leader of the Opposition Hon Bill Shorten, and other political party leaders:

This Federal election, we are going to use our vote to ensure candidates elected are committed to the defence and promotion of life from conception to natural death.

Candidates who will stand up for supporting the family and defining marriage as between a man and a woman.

Candidates who will support freedom of education rather than compulsory indoctrination such as the Safe Schools Coalition program.

Finally, candidates who stand for freedom of religion and conscience, especially in the medical field.
