Canada: Stop sexual exploitation of animals!
In a shocking ruling by the Supreme Court, most bestiality is legal in Canada. The 6-1 decision reversed the conviction a man who forced his own step-daughters to engage in sex acts with a dog. As a result of the ruling, sexual relations between humans and animals are legal in Canada so long as there is no "penetration" involved in the act.
This result exposes an outrageous and disgusting loophole in Canadian law. We need Parliament to act immediately to prohibit ALL acts of bestiality! As Judge Cromwell wrote in the majority opinion, "[a]ny expansion of criminal liability for this offence is within Parliament's exclusive domain." One bill that would define bestiality to include all inter-species sexual activity has been proposed, but remains in its early stages.

Justice Rosalie Abella wrote a scathing dissent, arguing that "[a]cts with animals that have a sexual purpose are inherently exploitative whether or not penetration occurs."
"As of today, Canadian law gives animal abusers license to use animals for their own sexual gratification," said Camille Labchuk, the director of Animal Justice. "This is completely unacceptable, contrary to societal expectations, and cannot be allowed to continue."
"People who sexually abuse animals are sometimes linked to sexually abusing children as well, as the accused did in this case," Labchuk continued. "That's a really good reason parliament needs to act."
Many see this decision as an instance of declining moral values in Canada. What could the consequences be, if Parliament fails to act? In Germany, authorities have had lamented the disturbing trend of "animal brothels" whose patrons describe themselves as "zoophiles" living out an alternative "lifestyle choice."
We cannot let this trend come to Canada. Signing this petition sends an immediate email to Prime Minister Trudeau and other Parliamentary leaders, asking that they take action to ban all human-animal sex acts.
