A Close Look at Kratom
What is Kratom?
Kratom is originally from Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia and Thailand. People in South East Asia have been using Kratom for medicinal purposes since the 19th century. Kratom is a sedative at high doses but a stimulant at low doses. It is also used for recreation purposes, treating diarrhea and opiate addiction. Research also shows that kratom treats fibromyalgia, restless legs syndrome, and arthritis.
How do I Take Kratom?
In South East Asia, people chew kratom leaves. Users also chew dry leaves or crush them into powder thus making it easy to swallow them. The powder can then be mixed with drinks and consumed. This is a quick way of taking it because it can as well be mixed with milk or fruit juice among other liquids.
For those who do not like the bitter taste, chocolate milk masks the bitterness perfectly. The powder also makes a paste consumed with water or yogurt. The other common method is making kratom capsules from the powder.
The other popular method is drying kratom leaves and adding them to tea. The leaves can also be smoked but it is not recommended due to high dosage. Extracts can be derived from leaves for later consumption. Small amounts of the extract can be dissolved in tea or other drinks. Honey or sugar is added to make the drink sweet.
Kratom has active alkaloids that cause different effects depending on dosage. The effect also depends on the body of the user. Most research findings state that Kratom effects are similar to those of opiate drugs. Even though the drug is similar to opiate pain medications, it is not as addictive as opiate drugs. It is worth noting that kratom is used by most people to fight opiate addiction.
In low doses, kratom creates a stimulating effect where the mind stays alert. The user’s physical energy also increases making them motivated to work hard. The individual’s mood is also elevated making them more sociable and talkative. Kratom brings more cognitive stimulating effects than physical one.
At high dosages, the user is less sensitive to both emotional and physical pains. It may also make them appear calm and comfortable with everything. However, in very high levels, you may experience sweating, itching, and nausea. The feeling may be unpleasant to other users because they may become unconscious. If used irresponsibly, kratom could have an addictive effect.
Trusted kratom vendors can be found both locally and internationally. At a local level, kratom is available in smoking shops and at gas station shops. You can use google maps or yellow pages to get the exact location or contact of the seller. In case you do not know where to buy kratom across the border, just search for online stores that offer free shipping of products sold.
