NOTICE: IF YOU ARE HAVING A HARD TIME SIGNING THIS - Some have said they are having a "hard time" signing this. We do not know why it is working for some and not others. Please try use a lap top. If this does not work, copy/paste the text and email Premier Blaine Higgs at [email protected] / Let him know you are in support of it inspite of the fact you are having a challenge signing it for some (unknown) reason. Thank you.
As residents of New Brunswick:
1. We applaud and affirm the Government of New Brunswick's stance NOT to implement COVID-19 passports (cited source below).
2. We applaud and affirm the Government of New Brunswick's stance allowing residents of any age the freedom to be vaccinated, or not, based on their personal discretion (which may be informed by pre-existing medical conditions, personal convictions, observation, caregiver discretion, other health considerations or some other reason).
3. We applaud and affirm the Government of New Brunswick's stance to encourage residents in the mindset of 'learning to live' with COVID-19, as we have learned to live with other viral based illnesses.
4. We beseech the Government of New Brunswick to maintain equal treatment in society of both vaccinated and unvaccinated residents, allowing equal access to all amenities whether essential or non thereby unleashing the full potential of our economy and civic freedoms.
5. Should another wave of COVID come, we beseech the Government of New Brunswick to continue to prioritize protecting the most vulnerable, namely the elderly in long term care facilities and those with multiple pre-existing conditions, while finding effective ways for families to remain connected for the purpose of personal, physical, emotional and spiritual support of aging loved ones.
6. We recognize and affirm that all of the above will lead to a more cohesive province, stronger economy and contribute to the mental well-being of all residents.
7. We believe that in doing all of the above, the Government of New Brunswick is being wise on a multitude of management tiers.
Thank you for your tireless work on behalf of all New Brunswickers during this challenging season.
Thank you also for giving weighted consideration to our economy, culture, mental health and cohesiveness at this juncture.
POINT 1 SOURCE CITATION: www.ctvnews.ca/health/coronavirus/what-provinces-have-to-say-about-vacci... "New Brunswick Health Minister Dorothy Shephard said in July that the province has no plans to bring in a vaccine passport. 'I think that we can do without a vaccine passport on a domestic level,' she said. New Brunswickers travelling to a destination – in Canada or elsewhere – can use the paper proof of vaccination they received when they were inoculated or have access to an online record."
