In a faraway reality, the forceful obligation to hide religious symbols seemed a thing of distant, authoritarian, communist regimes. Yet this totalitarianism has so rapidly creeped into our Western democratic societies, that we are no longer so ‘free’ as perhaps we thought we once were.

Just last month, a group of Police officers of the Montreal Police Department (Service de Police de la ville de Montréal) were threatened and forced to stop wearing a religious symbol whilst on duty. 

Many officers were seen wearing crests that read: "Saint Michael Protect Us", paying homage to the Catholic patron saint of law enforcement, Saint Michael the Archangel. This was whilst monitoring violent and heated protests prior to the Cop 15 international forum.

The Police force is there to protect and serve us all, and often put their own safety at risk for this cause. They have now been stripped of their rights to express themselves, express their religious beliefs and even pray! 

We count on your support to put pressure on the Montreal Police Department to respect the basic rights of its officers and grant them the right to wear the Saint Michael’s crest for prayer and protection!

The Quebec police code of ethics stipulates that a police officer must perform their duties with "disinterestedness and impartiality." This means avoiding placing themselves in a situation where they would be in conflict of interest or likely to compromise their impartiality or judgment.

However wearing the crest of a patron saint for your own personal reasons DOES NOT transgress any of the above!

The SPVM (Police Department) stated that a complete overhaul of the procedure for keeping and maintaining the police officers is underway and continues to be under review. 

So we still have a chance to make a difference and support these officers, so that they are cleared of any wrongdoing and allowed to go back to their duties without further consequences.

Canada is becoming dangerously synonymous with totalitarianism, with the endless attacks on basic freedoms, under Trudeau’s radical leftist government. We have seen just how little remorse they have for human dignity and fundamental freedoms, starting with the harsh lockdowns on Churches, the truckers and now with endless attacks on religious freedom and expression.

It is fair to say the radical leftists in Canada hate Christianity and whatever has to do with it. That is why they’ve been waging war against Christians and conservative voices there in whatever area of society they have the chance to do so.

Canada’s law on secularism, also known as Bill 21, adopted in June 2019, directly prohibits the wearing of religious symbols by representatives of the state in a position of authority.

Current laws of this kind in Canada and their selective application is all just further evidence of efforts to erase any Christian heritage from Western society.

That is why it is so important we stand up to anti-Christian lawmaking, in instances like these where religious discrimination is so plain and unhinged.
