Pomozite im i potpišite peticiju danas.

Petition to: Jackie Sullivan Royal London Chief Executive Officer

To: Jackie Sullivan CEO of Royal London Hospital and Alwen Williams, Chief Executive of Barts NHS Trust

I wish to express my support for the family of 12-year-old Archie Battersbee who, as you are aware, is currently battling a brain injury in the Royal London Hospital. I ask that the trust withdraws their current court action that seeks to bring about Archie's premature death and instead, works with his family in order to give Archie the best possible chance of recovery.

Archie has only been in hospital for 5 weeks, which is not sufficient time to determine the extent of his injury or prospects of recovery and his parents have expressed concern that no measures have been taken to treat the swelling in Archie's brain. There are also concerns that the test to determine 'brain stem death' is not reliable; there have been cases of individuals in a similar condition to Archie who have gone on to make a recovery.

The test to determine Archie's brain-stem activity would require removal of his ventilator which could result in further injury to his brain.

Brain injuries typically take a long time to recover from. A month is insufficient time to take this monumental decision.

Please withdraw your legal action for the sake of Archie and his family.
