IN BRIEF: On referendum day, a large number of expatriates, with no intention of returning to live in Ireland, could be “shipped in” to vote in favour of abortion, and having voted, “shipped out” again. This is a clear manipulation of the democratic process in Ireland and we must do everything we can to end it.

At present Fianna Fail has a divided policy on abortion and have promised their Oireachtas members a free vote on the issue. Up to 70% of the Party’s T. D.’s have been supportive of pro-life and in the 2016 General Election many candidates received votes on the basis of their opposition to the removal of the 8th Amendment.

At present Fianna Fail have a divided policy on abortion with some members openly supportive of a change to the Constitution and our laws. Up to 70% of the elected T.D's are however favourable to pro life and have either voted against abortion or expressed a definite pro life opinion. Many grass roots supporters are the same.
